Tuchel England Andorra reaction 2025 — England boss Thomas Tuchel insists he can cope with the pressure after his side were booed off the pitch despite maintaining their 100% record in World Cup qualifying with a sluggish 1-0 win over Andorra.

Harry Kane’s second-half strike secured the result in Barcelona, but fans were unimpressed by the display against the 173rd-ranked nation in the world — a feeling Tuchel himself echoed in a frank post-match debrief.

England Booed in Barcelona — Again

Supporters jeered at both half-time and full-time, echoing flashbacks to similar jeers in 2007 under Steve McClaren and 2008 with Fabio Capello — both matches also against Andorra, and both managers who ultimately fell short with England.

“We were not happy and no single player will be happy with what we showed. Why would the coach be?” — Thomas Tuchel

Tuchel: “The Biggest Pressure Comes From Myself”

Tuchel didn’t sugar-coat his reaction, calling out his team’s lack of urgency and warning that they “played with fire” by failing to kill off the game earlier.

The England manager defended his decision to start Harry Kane over Ivan Toney and brushed off criticism about Toney’s exclusion.

“I have seen him in training and made my decisions… It’s not the time now to talk about Ivan Toney.” — Thomas Tuchel

With a friendly against Senegal next, Tuchel’s England honeymoon is already under scrutiny. Despite three clean sheets and nine points from three qualifiers, it’s the performance — not the result — that’s fuelling doubt.
