Tottenham are facing a late injury concern ahead of Wednesday night’s Premier League trip to Bournemouth, with Mohammed Kudus unlikely to be available after sustaining a thigh injury at the weekend.

Spurs travel to the Vitality Stadium looking to build momentum, but head coach Thomas Frank has confirmed the Ghana international is set to miss the match following a scan.

Kudus set to miss Bournemouth trip

Kudus was forced off early in Tottenham’s draw against Sunderland after pulling up off the ball and clutching his left thigh. The 25-year-old received treatment on the pitch before being replaced by Randal Kolo Muani in the 19th minute.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Frank admitted the outlook was not encouraging.

“He’s going for a scan here, one o’clock, to clarify the issue. So unfortunately, I don’t have a big update on it,” Frank said. “Yeah, most likely ruled out for Bournemouth.”

With Kudus sidelined, Tottenham will again be without a natural right winger.

Who replaces Kudus?

Kolo Muani impressed during his cameo against Sunderland and is expected to deputise once more. On the opposite flank, Mathys Tel also caught the eye and could be handed just his fifth Premier League start of the season.

In midfield, Lucas Bergvall returned from injury at the weekend and remains an option, particularly for his ability to stretch play in behind. However, Xavi Simons is back from suspension after serving a three-match ban following his red card against Liverpool, and is expected to retain his place.

Injury latest: Solanke and Udogie

Dominic Solanke remains unavailable despite returning to training last week, while there is more encouraging news regarding Destiny Udogie, who could make the matchday squad as he continues his recovery from a hamstring issue.

“He is training and he’s looking better, so that’s positive,” Frank said.
“No, Solanke won’t be involved against Bournemouth. Positive, going forward.”

Predicted Tottenham XI vs Bournemouth

Predicted XI (4-3-3):
Vicario, Spence, Romero, Van de Ven, Porro, Bentancur, Gray, Simons, Tel, Richarlison, Kolo Muani

Injured: Solanke, Maddison, Kulusevski, Kudus
Doubt: Udogie

Match details

  • Date: Wednesday, 7 January 2026
  • Kick-off: 7:30pm GMT

What’s next?

With injuries continuing to disrupt Tottenham’s attacking options, Frank may once again rely on flexibility and depth rather than specialist wide players. A positive result on the south coast would ease pressure ahead of a demanding run of fixtures.

Can Tottenham cope without Kudus — or will Bournemouth sense an opportunity under the lights?
