Sunderland sign Chemsdine Talbi in what could be one of their most ambitious transfers in recent memory.
The 20-year-old Moroccan winger has agreed a five-year deal with the Black Cats after the club struck a €23m agreement with Club Brugge. A medical is expected early next week, with Talbi ready to become a major figure in Sunderland’s new-look attack.
The move signals Sunderland’s intent to build a Premier League-ready squad after years of patient progress.
Talbi Deal Agreed – Winger Ready for England
Chemsedine Talbi will sign a contract at the Stadium of Light until 2030.
Both Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri and French-Moroccan source Hanif Ben Berkane confirm the deal is done. Brugge and Sunderland have now shaken hands on a €23m fee — including bonuses — with Talbi expected to land in England next week.
“He’s been Sunderland’s priority target since May. This is a statement signing,” said a source close to the deal. — Hanif Ben Berkane
Talbi is believed to have turned down late interest from Ligue 1 in favour of Sunderland’s project and guaranteed playing time.

Where do Sunderland get all that money from? They've been spending like crazy and it seems like it doesn't stop

Well I think they get £198 million for their promotion only. They sold Bellingham as well.
