Scott Parker has dismissed speculation over his future at Burnley, insisting he remains fully backed by chairman Alan Pace despite a damaging run of five straight defeats. The Clarets’ latest setback — a 1–0 home loss to Crystal Palace on Wednesday — leaves them 19th in the Premier League and four points from safety after Leeds’ shock victory over Chelsea. But while fan frustration is beginning to simmer, Parker says internal conversations with the board have offered clarity and stability at a crucial moment.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s trip to Newcastle, the Burnley boss made clear he retains the confidence of the club’s hierarchy. He described his discussions with Pace as “open, honest and realistic”, reinforcing that both parties remain aligned in approach and expectations despite mounting pressure from outside.

“I was speaking to Alan today… my relationship with Alan is rock solid. I have absolutely no worries whatsoever regarding my position.”

Parker has faced scrutiny before during turbulent spells at Fulham and Bournemouth, but he insists the mood inside Burnley’s training ground is far more measured than the league table suggests.

He stressed that maintaining composure — both his own and that of his players — is central to turning the tide: “I’m very calm… there is a real calmness about us and a sense around the whole football club. The biggest job for me is keeping the players in that calm state, and obviously the fans as well.”

Having followed Burnley’s season closely, the contrast is clear: performances have often shown structure, but costly lapses in the final third continue to undermine otherwise competitive displays. Although some supporters argue managerial change would provide a spark, others point to the squad’s transition and lack of Premier League experience.

Burnley’s metrics in possession remain solid, but their chance conversion and late-game management lag behind relegation rivals — suggesting tactical adjustments, rather than leadership overhaul, may be the more logical remedy.
