A decision on Radu Drăgușin’s future could arrive within the next 48 hours, according to his agent, as AS Roma wait for Tottenham to respond to their approach.
The Romanian defender has been linked with a January exit in search of regular minutes, and talks appear to be reaching a decisive stage.
Agent sets timeline for decision
Drăgușin’s agent Florin Manea has confirmed that discussions are ongoing and that clarity could come imminently.
“The decisive days will be between today and tomorrow,” Manea told TeleRadioStereo.
“I’d like to avoid talking, but we hope to reach a conclusion in the negotiations with Roma.”
Manea had already indicated over the weekend that his client favours a move to Roma over Fiorentina, but stressed that any progress depends entirely on Tottenham granting permission for talks.
Roma proposal on the table
According to reports from Il Tempo, relayed by VoceGiallorossa, Roma have submitted an initial proposal to Tottenham Hotspur based on a loan with an option to buy.
The Serie A club are understood to be prepared to follow up with a revised offer that could include a conditional obligation to purchase, depending on appearances or team objectives.
Roma see Drăgușin as a good fit for their system, particularly given his prior experience in Italy with Genoa and Juventus.
Lack of minutes driving exit
Since returning from a knee injury, Drăgușin has made just one appearance for Spurs, a situation that has fuelled his desire to move on in search of consistent playing time.
While Thomas Frank has options at centre-back, the Romania international has struggled to re-establish himself in the pecking order.
That context explains why Roma are pushing to complete a deal quickly as they chase Champions League qualification.
Tottenham hold the cards
Despite the urgency from Drăgușin’s camp, Tottenham remain in a position of strength.
The defender is under contract until 2030, meaning Spurs are under no pressure to accept a deal that does not meet their valuation. Any exit will be on their terms, whether that comes now or later in the window.
While Manea hopes for a swift conclusion, Tottenham have little reason to rush — and may wait for improved terms before giving the green light.

What’s next
Roma are expected to await Tottenham’s response before deciding whether to return with a stronger offer.
If Spurs reject the current structure, the move could drift deeper into the window — or stall entirely — despite the player’s preference for a switch to Italy.
Should Tottenham cash in on Radu Drăgușin now, or keep him as cover for the second half of the season?
