Postecoglou reacts to Spurs’ 2-0 defeat at Fulham: Disappointment and performance issues highlighted.

Ange Postecoglou faced the media following Tottenham’s 2-0 defeat to Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday. The game, which lacked excitement in the first half, saw Tottenham struggle to create chances, with neither goalkeeper tested much. Spurs manager Postecoglou made two second-half changes, bringing on Son Heung-min and Lucas Bergvall in place of Yves Bissouma and Brennan Johnson. The move seemed to spark a better performance, but Fulham found the breakthrough in the 78th minute.

Substitute Wilson Odobert lost the ball in a crowded area, allowing Fulham to capitalize. The ball eventually reached Rodrigo Muniz, who slotted home a low shot into the left-hand corner. Fulham extended their lead moments later, with former Spurs player Ryan Sessegnon curling a well-placed shot into the far corner following a mistake from Ben Davies.

In his post-match press conference, Postecoglou expressed his understanding of the fans’ frustrations. "I get their disappointment," he said. "15 league defeats is unacceptable, and it’s nowhere near the level we need to be at. It’s not just about performance today; it’s another game where we let it slip away."

Postecoglou went on to address the issue of midfielder Yves Bissouma, who was substituted in the second half. “Bissouma sometimes lets the game drift by him,” said the Spurs boss. “He needs to be more dominant and assertive. I understand he’s lacking confidence, but we need players to perform at this stage of the season.”

With 15 league losses this season, Postecoglou’s frustration was clear. He acknowledged that Spurs had their chances to take control, but mistakes cost them dearly. “We’ve conceded soft goals too many times this year, and it's something we need to fix,” he concluded.
