Borussia Dortmund join race for Man City winger Oscar Bobb amid Semenyo move

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly joined the race to sign Oscar Bobb, with the Manchester City winger potentially pushing for a January move if the club complete a deal to sign Antoine Semenyo.

According to our source, Crystal Palace are already monitoring Bobb’s situation, while City are understood to be open to offers for the Norway international this winter.

Interest in Bobb is growing across Europe and, according to Fabrizio Romano, Borussia Dortmund are now among the clubs considering a move.

Dortmund’s long-standing reputation for developing young attacking talent makes them an attractive option should Bobb decide his pathway at City is becoming blocked.

The winger recently returned to Pep Guardiola’s first-team fold before suffering a hamstring injury against Brentford in the Carabao Cup last Wednesday, temporarily halting his momentum.

Bobb’s future appears closely linked to City’s pursuit of Antoine Semenyo.

City are believed to be in pole position to sign the Bournemouth forward after Semenyo indicated his preference to join Manchester City.

Manchester United had also attempted to sign the Ghana international, while Chelsea withdrew from the race once it became clear the player favoured City. Liverpool have previously carried out due diligence, and Tottenham Hotspur have also registered interest.

Chelsea briefly re-entered discussions earlier this week after Semenyo spent time weighing up his options.

City are open to listening to offers for Bobb, particularly if Semenyo arrives and further intensifies competition in wide attacking areas.

The 21-year-old has made 15 appearances for City this season, including nine Premier League outings, registering one assist. While highly rated internally, Bobb is conscious of the need for regular football at this stage of his development.

Semenyo is available for £65m during the January window, though his release clause is set to expire in the second week of the month.

After scoring 11 goals last season, the Bournemouth forward has continued his strong form with eight goals in 16 appearances this term. His contract with AFC Bournemouth runs until 2030.

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has insisted Semenyo remains fully focused despite the growing speculation around his future.

Manchester City are expected to push for clarity on Semenyo’s future early in January, given the expiry of his release clause.

If City complete the deal, Bobb’s camp may actively explore options, with Borussia Dortmund emerging as a serious contender. Any decision is likely to hinge on guarantees of minutes and a clear development pathway.
