Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Noni Madueke will feature against Fluminense in the Club World Cup semi-final, despite ongoing links with a summer move to Arsenal.

The 23-year-old winger has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Gunners but remains a Chelsea player — and one Maresca still plans to use in a high-stakes clash.

Maresca Not Distracted by Transfer “Noise”

Amid swirling transfer speculation, Maresca gave a calm and composed response when asked whether Madueke would feature in the Club World Cup semi-final:

“I don’t have any doubts that if we need Noni, he will help us. The noise was there before Palmeiras, and he delivered in that game too.” — Enzo Maresca

The winger came off the bench in the quarter-final win against Palmeiras and looked sharp. Maresca made it clear his trust remains intact — for now.

Arsenal Step Up Move for Madueke

Mikel Arteta’s side are actively seeking wide reinforcements, and Madueke has emerged as a serious candidate. According to Fabrizio Romano, personal terms have already been agreed with the former PSV winger, who is keen on the move.

However, Arsenal are yet to submit an official bid to Chelsea, meaning Madueke remains eligible and ready for action in New Jersey.

Chelsea’s Club World Cup Push Continues

The Blues are now chasing their second trophy of the 2024/25 season, having already lifted the UEFA Conference League under Maresca. They’ll face Copa Libertadores champions Fluminense at the MetLife Stadium on Tuesday night in the semi-finals.

A win would set up a potential showdown with either Manchester City or Al Ahly in the final.

Our Analyse

Madueke’s attitude under pressure has impressed Maresca, but the writing is on the wall. Arsenal are serious. Chelsea may play him one last time before opening the door to a sale — especially if the offer lands north of £40m.

Key Statement

  • Madueke agrees terms with Arsenal — no bid submitted yet
  • Maresca confirms he’ll use him vs Fluminense if needed
  • Chelsea aiming for Club World Cup final in New Jersey
  • Transfer noise grows, but player remains committed short-term

What’s Next?

Chelsea play Fluminense in New Jersey on Tuesday. Arsenal are expected to submit their opening bid for Madueke this week. If the deal accelerates, he may have played his final game in blue.

Should Chelsea cash in on Madueke now — or hold out until after the Club World Cup?

I would hate to see him leave to be honest! But we have Estevao coming in, Neto is playing better because Madueke is everything but consistent... Joao Pedro can play on the wings - Gittens has joined..
