Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe is recovering well after a health scare led to his hospitalization on Friday evening, April 11, prompting him to miss Sunday's Premier League fixture against Manchester United.

The 46-year-old was admitted to the hospital as a precautionary measure and remains under observation as medical staff carry out further tests. According to the club, Howe is "conscious and talking with his family", and will continue receiving medical care while his condition is monitored closely.
With no confirmed return date, assistant coach Jason Tindall will lead the team in Howe’s absence, supported by Graeme Jones, Stephen Purchess, and Simon Weatherstone. Newcastle are preparing for their midweek fixture against Crystal Palace at St James’ Park, scheduled for Wednesday.

A club spokesperson said in an official statement:
“Everyone at Newcastle United extends their best wishes to Eddie for a speedy recovery. Further updates will follow in due course.” Despite being sidelined, Howe remains actively involved in team preparations, staying in regular contact with his coaching staff. Tindall, speaking at the post-match press conference, shared his admiration for Howe’s dedication: “He’s probably got a live feed on us right now. His attention to detail is second to none. That’s why he’s one of the best managers in the game.”

The club emphasizes that the hospital visit was largely precautionary, and the manager's absence is being handled with care to ensure a full recovery. As the Magpies prepare for an intense end to the season, confidence remains high within the squad and coaching staff.
Newcastle are pushing for one of their best finishes in recent memory, and while the manager recuperates, the backroom team is expected to maintain the club’s momentum on the pitch.
