Morgan Rogers’ rapid rise at Aston Villa has been underlined by a staggering new valuation that places him among the most valuable footballers in world football.
According to a fresh study by the CIES Football Observatory, the Villa forward is now rated as the 12th most valuable player on the planet, with an estimated market value of €125.9m (£109m) — a remarkable leap for a player signed for a fraction of that fee less than two years ago.
Morgan Rogers ranked among world football’s elite
The CIES study places Morgan Rogers as the third most valuable Premier League player, behind only Erling Haaland (€255.1m) and Florian Wirtz (€135.8m).
Globally, the list is topped by Lamine Yamal, who is valued at an extraordinary €343.1m. He sits ahead of Haaland, with Kylian Mbappe (€201.3m) and Jude Bellingham (€153.1m) completing the top four.
For Rogers to feature so prominently among that company highlights just how quickly his stock has risen at Villa Park.
From bargain buy to £109m valuation
Rogers joined Aston Villa for an initial £8m, with add-ons potentially taking the deal to around £15m. At the time, he was viewed as a high-upside signing rather than a guaranteed star.
That perception has changed dramatically. In his first full season under Unai Emery, Rogers took both the Premier League and Champions League by storm. He played a key role as Villa reached the quarter-finals in Europe, eventually losing to Paris Saint-Germain, who went on to lift the trophy.
His performances earned him an England call-up and the PFA Young Player of the Year award, while also sparking transfer interest from domestic rivals, including Liverpool and Chelsea.
Strong form continues this season
After a slightly slower start to the current campaign, Rogers has again become central to Villa’s attacking play. He has been instrumental as Villa sit third in the Premier League table and push towards the Europa League knockout stages.
CIES’ valuation model reflects not just current form, but age, contract length, performance data, and market demand — all areas where Rogers now scores extremely highly.
Villa also have a second representative in the top 100, with Amadou Onana valued at €64.6m following his £50m move from Everton.
Key insights

- Only Haaland and Wirtz rank higher among Premier League players
- Rogers’ rise has been driven by elite-level output and age profile
- Villa now hold one of Europe’s most valuable attacking assets
What’s next
With Rogers under a long-term contract and Villa competing at the top end of domestic and European football, there is no immediate pressure to sell. However, such a valuation inevitably places him firmly on the radar of Europe’s elite clubs ahead of future transfer windows.
Much will depend on Villa’s ability to sustain Champions League qualification and continue progressing under Emery. If they do, the club may view Rogers not as a saleable asset, but as the cornerstone of their long-term project — even as his valuation continues to climb.
If Villa were forced to name a price tomorrow, what should Morgan Rogers really cost — and is he already untouchable?
