Jose Mourinho has reportedly approved a move for Marcus Rashford, with Fenerbahçe now waiting on the Manchester United forward’s decision before launching a formal bid.

That’s according to Turkish sources Haber Global and journalist Sercan Hamzaoğlu, who claim that the former United boss is keen on a shock reunion with the England international.

While no official offer has been submitted yet, Fenerbahçe have already made a “strong move” behind the scenes by contacting Rashford’s camp to discuss salary and transfer fee expectations.

Mourinho Wants Rashford in Istanbul

Despite past friction between the pair during Mourinho’s United tenure, the Portuguese manager is said to be open to working with Rashford again — especially as the winger is believed to be open to a fresh start.

Rashford scored 28 goals and provided 20 assists under Mourinho in 125 appearances — but fell out of form last season, with his United future now uncertain under Erik ten Hag.

Barcelona Still Lurking?

Previous reports from the Spanish press have insisted Rashford’s dream remains a move to Barcelona, and that he’s already turned down Turkish interest earlier this summer.

However, Barça have yet to make a formal move — and Fenerbahçe are hoping United’s urgency to trim the wage bill might force their hand in August, potentially at a knockdown price.

Analyst Verdict: Is This Real or Just Pressure on United?

On paper, it seems unlikely Mourinho would reunite with Rashford — but football's full of surprises, and the deal may work for both parties. Mourinho wants experience, and Rashford needs a reset.

It may also be a tactic to test United’s resolve — or Rashford’s loyalty to the Premier League.

What’s Next for Rashford and Mourinho?

Fenerbahçe have moved early, Mourinho is on board, and the offer is on the table. But unless Rashford says “yes” — it all remains hypothetical.

One thing’s clear: Manchester United have a decision to make before August rolls in.
