Manchester United have received a significant boost as five key players have returned to training ahead of their next Premier League fixture. With Ruben Amorim’s squad facing numerous fitness setbacks this season, the manager has expressed optimism about finishing the campaign strong, especially with these players now back in the fold.

As the team prepares for their upcoming match against high-flying Nottingham Forest, United’s injury woes have eased. The five returning players include Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro, who both strengthen the defensive line. Left-back Luke Shaw, who has had limited appearances this season, is also back in training after a long injury absence that has kept him sidelined throughout 2025.

In addition, goalkeepers Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton are back in action, with United’s media sharing video clips confirming their returns. This comes on the heels of Mason Mount's recent inclusion on the bench following his recovery before the international break, meaning the club’s injury list is gradually shortening.

Despite these positive developments, several players remain unavailable. Lisandro Martinez, Kobbie Mainoo, Jonny Evans, and Amad Diallo are still recovering from their respective injuries. Moreover, young defender Ayden Heaven, who was nearing a breakthrough into the first team, is dealing with an ankle injury and was seen wearing a protective boot after the international break.

Manager Ruben Amorim is expected to provide further updates on Heaven and the returning players as United prepare to face Nottingham Forest on Tuesday. United, currently sitting 13th in the Premier League standings, will aim to close the gap on a Forest side that currently occupies third place, 17 points ahead.
