Man United injury update: Bruno Fernandes, Mainoo, De Ligt latest

Manchester United are facing mounting injury concerns as they prepare for a crucial Boxing Day clash against Newcastle United, with Ruben Amorim admitting his options are becoming increasingly stretched.

Already without Noussair Mazraoui, Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo due to Africa Cup of Nations duty, United were hit by further setbacks ahead of their 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa.

“I think it’s soft tissue, so it’s going to take a while,” Amorim said.
“I think he is going to lose some games, but I don’t know for sure. He is a guy who is always fit and has shown he can recover.”
