Man City star Bernardo Silva approached by Juventus over summer move

Bernardo Silva’s future at Manchester City is once again under scrutiny after reports from Italy claimed the midfielder has been approached by Juventus ahead of a possible summer move.

The 31-year-old remains one of the most recognisable names in European football and is entering the final months of his contract at the Etihad Stadium, with no extension agreed as things stand.

According to Italian journalist Mirko Di Natale, Juventus have made an approach to explore the possibility of signing Bernardo Silva once his Manchester City deal expires.

With Silva out of contract at the end of the 2025–26 season, he is now permitted to hold pre-contract talks with clubs outside England. Juventus are understood to be monitoring the situation closely, although no final decision has been made by the player.

Crucially, the report adds that Silva is expected to remain with Manchester City until the end of the current campaign, regardless of any outside interest during the window.

Silva played the full 90 minutes on Wednesday night as City were held at home by Brighton & Hove Albion, another setback in a season where momentum has been difficult to sustain.

City appeared on course for a vital win after Erling Haaland converted from the penalty spot, but Brighton struck back in the second half to earn a point.

With a game in hand, Arsenal now sit five points clear at the top of the Premier League table, increasing the pressure on Pep Guardiola’s side.

Despite Juventus’ interest, Silva is said to be in no rush to determine his future. The Portuguese international is yet to make a definitive call and could still turn down advances from the Italian giants.

Much will depend on City’s plans, Silva’s desire for a new challenge, and whether a club can offer both sporting ambition and a central role comparable to what he has enjoyed under Guardiola.

Since joining City permanently from Monaco in July 2017, Silva has established himself as one of the most influential players of the Guardiola era.

The midfielder has been central to an unprecedented spell of dominance, winning six Premier League titles and lifting the Champions League as part of City’s historic treble-winning side. He is now closing in on 450 appearances for the club — a milestone he could reach before a potential summer departure.

Regardless of what comes next, Silva’s status as a modern City great is secure.

Silva’s immediate focus remains on finishing the season strongly with City, as Guardiola’s side attempt to claw back ground in the title race. Behind the scenes, however, discussions over his future are likely to intensify as the summer approaches.
