Luis Diaz Bayern Munich transfer news has escalated after the Liverpool winger reportedly gave the German giants the green light to open negotiations over a summer move.

Barcelona had long been favourites to land the Colombian, but with Liverpool demanding €80–85m and refusing to negotiate with the La Liga side, Bayern Munich are now in pole position.

Diaz Prefers Barcelona — But Bayern May Be More Likely

Diaz has been Barcelona’s top attacking target since spring 2024, with Director of Football Deco pushing hard behind the scenes. However, Marca reports that Liverpool remain firm on their stance — Diaz is not for sale, and they’re particularly unwilling to deal with the Catalans due to past transfer frustrations.

“Luis will request to leave Liverpool in the coming days,” reported *Marca*. “But Barca’s chances remain slim unless the club changes their transfer policy toward them.” — Marca

Meanwhile, BILD confirms Bayern have agreed personal terms with Diaz. Talks with Liverpool haven’t started yet — but Diaz has now officially approved a switch to the Bundesliga champions.

Luis Diaz 2024/25 Season Stats (All Competitions)

Club Apps Goals Assists
Liverpool 44 10 7
Colombia (INT) 9 3 2
Total 53 13 9

Key Slight

  • Diaz wants out — and will push for a summer move
  • Liverpool refuse to engage with Barcelona over past disputes
  • Bayern have wages, cash, and registration guarantees
  • Barca’s dream could now be Bayern’s reality

Analyst Verdict

Luis Diaz still prefers Barcelona, but Bayern are simply better prepared — financially and structurally — to do a deal. Deco may have started this chase, but it looks like Max Eberl could finish it.

What’s Next?

Bayern are expected to begin formal talks with Liverpool this week. Diaz has made it clear he’s open to the move, and personal terms are agreed. Unless Liverpool soften their anti-Barcelona stance, the Bundesliga champions are firmly in control.

Would Liverpool be wrong to sell Diaz — or is now the perfect time to cash in?

He's gone... I dont think he'll stay even they've lost Jota - he wants to move.. if Liverpool could get 60/80M they'll probably sell him.
