Lucas Bergvall’s rise at Tottenham Hotspur has taken another exciting turn, with fans and pundits noticing a clear physical transformation in the 19-year-old midfielder.
Since arriving at Spurs, Bergvall has made a strong impression and is now considered one of the first names on manager Ange Postecoglou’s team sheet. His recent performances have not only justified his growing importance in the squad but have also caught the attention of those who initially doubted his ability to adapt to the Premier League.
According to Spurs insider Alasdair Gold, Bergvall appears noticeably stronger in recent footage shared by the club. “He’s clearly bulking up,” Gold said on the Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham podcast. “Watching him come out of the tunnel, you can see how much bigger and more powerful he’s becoming. Every time I see him, he looks stronger.”
Gold added that this physical improvement is having a direct impact on Bergvall’s performances. “He’s more dominant on the ball now, and it’s paying off in his game. Apparently, he’s been hitting the gym with Kulusevski, and it shows.”
Tottenham are reportedly preparing to offer Bergvall a new contract to reflect his progress and ensure his future remains tied to North London. It’s a reward for a player who has quickly become a fan favorite and has left clubs like Barcelona regretting they didn’t secure his signature.
Recently, Bergvall came close to netting his first Premier League goal, only for VAR to intervene. His strike against Southampton was chalked off due to an offside in the build-up, frustrating both the manager and supporters.
Nonetheless, Bergvall’s development both on and off the pitch suggests this is only the beginning of what could be a stellar Premier League career.

Best Spurs midfielder, currently. He was good against Chelsea, didn't see him against Southampton.
