Liverpool keeping close tabs on Kingsley Coman as Bayern eye summer sale

Liverpool are monitoring Kingsley Coman’s situation at Bayern Munich as the Bundesliga giants prepare for a potential summer sale, according to German journalist Christian Falk.

The 28-year-old French winger has been heavily linked with a move away from Bayern, where new manager Vincent Kompany is reportedly not counting on Coman as a key part of his future plans. Despite being fit, Coman has only played 41% of the available Bundesliga minutes this season, prompting Bayern to consider offers for the former Juventus and PSG man.

This development has alerted several Premier League clubs, with Liverpool named as one of the sides showing interest—even if their attacking depth already features stars like Mohamed Salah, Luis Díaz, Cody Gakpo, and Federico Chiesa.

“Liverpool are actually interested in him,” said Falk.
“He’s on the shortlist. It’s not to the point where there are negotiations or offers yet, but they’re monitoring his situation, especially after he’s Bayern’s number one sales candidate."

The German club’s motivation for selling Coman is financially driven, rather than performance-based.
“Not because they don’t appreciate him, but because they can see him bringing in money,” Falk added.

However, Coman’s injury history could be a factor that Liverpool consider carefully before pursuing a formal bid.

“Yes, of course that’s one of the considerations,” Falk explained.
“But of course, with his high speed, he would fit in really well. He comes in on the left, but he can actually play all of them. So that would be interesting for the team.”

Coman’s versatility and Champions League pedigree make him a tempting option for a club like Liverpool, particularly with manager Arne Slot preparing to fine-tune his squad this summer. Whether the Reds choose to act on their interest remains to be seen, but the French international is very much a name to watch in the coming transfer window.
