Jose Mourinho has reignited his feud with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy following Spurs’ dramatic 1-0 Europa League final win over Manchester United. The Portuguese manager, who was sacked by Levy in 2021 just days before a League Cup final, took a brutal swipe at his former boss, claiming the trophy means more financially for Levy than emotionally for the club.
Mourinho, speaking on Sky Sports, said:
“For Mr Levy, the millions that the Champions League gives is the best news.” — Jose Mourinho
Spurs’ Europa League victory marks their first major silverware in 17 years and guarantees Champions League football for 2025–26, despite finishing 17th in the Premier League.
Mourinho’s Frustration Over 2021 Sacking
Mourinho has long criticised Levy for sacking him days before Spurs’ last major final. He recalled:
“The most ridiculous one was a club that has an empty trophy room sacks me two days before a final.” — Jose Mourinho
Spurs fans have frequently protested Levy’s leadership, with banners like “Time for change” and “Built a business, killed a football club” seen outside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Daniel Levy’s Reaction to Europa League Win
Levy praised the team’s long-awaited success, saying:
““We did it. This is one trophy – our clear ambition has always been long-term, sustained success.” — Daniel Levy
He also thanked the fans for their loyalty, promising the club will use this as a springboard for more silverware.

Give it up Jose :D. That sack still haunts him and tbh his football has been outdated for years now even when he was at Spurs, it wasn't that good anymore.
