Jack Grealish England snub 2025 headlines continued this week after national team manager Thomas Tuchel explained the Manchester City star’s omission from his latest squad.

Grealish, 29, endured a difficult campaign at club level and is expected to leave City in the summer transfer window. The England midfielder was left out of Pep Guardiola’s Club World Cup squad, signalling the end of a turbulent Etihad journey.

Despite his experience and unique ability to impact big matches, Grealish is yet to be called up by Tuchel, who replaced Gareth Southgate after Euro 2024.

Tuchel: “He Needs Minutes and Minutes and Minutes”

“He needs to make himself available by playing. That’s what is missing, nothing else. I love Jack for his personality and talent, but he needs rhythm.” — Thomas Tuchel

Tuchel stressed that the player’s natural flair, mental strength, and character were not in question — but consistent game time is the missing piece.

Why Was Jack Grealish Dropped?

Grealish played just seven Premier League matches in the 2024/25 season and started only 16 games in all competitions. Despite scoring in key moments — including a late double against Brentford — his overall influence faded.

Jack Grealish England snub 2025 comes at a critical juncture in his career. With the World Cup on the horizon, Tuchel's message was clear: if Grealish wants a seat on the plane, he needs minutes — and a move.

Jacky needs to leave City, simple. Guardiola dont rate him so, time to go. If he gets that Villa spark in him back than he'll be one of the best in the leagues, still "young".
