Fenerbahce close in on Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr

Fenerbahce are closing in on the signing of Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr after abandoning their pursuit of Rafael Leão.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Turkish giants have made the Senegal international their priority attacking target after Leão turned down a move.

Sarr is now reportedly "very close" to joining Fenerbahce, with negotiations between the two clubs progressing and an agreement potentially being reached in the coming hours.

The report states that Fenerbahce initially pushed to sign Rafael Leão and even submitted formal offers for the Portugal international.

However, Leão is not convinced by the Turkish club's project, prompting Fenerbahce to move quickly for an alternative.

Sarr has emerged as the preferred option and is understood to be open to completing the transfer.

Discussions are now ongoing with Crystal Palace to finalise the financial details of the deal, although no transfer fee has yet been disclosed.

Sarr enjoyed another productive campaign for the Eagles, scoring nine goals during the 2025/26 season after netting eight times the previous year.

His performances also attracted interest from Manchester United earlier in the transfer window, although the winger previously suggested his future would ultimately depend on Crystal Palace's decision.

The 28-year-old remains under contract at Selhurst Park until 2029, leaving Palace in a strong negotiating position.

Crystal Palace signed Sarr for just €15 million, meaning any sale this summer would represent a substantial profit.

With Fenerbahce eager to strengthen their attack and Sarr reportedly willing to make the move, negotiations could accelerate if the two clubs agree on a valuation.
