Leeds United are making a major move in the summer transfer window, with a fresh bid now on the table for Feyenoord star Igor Paixão. Sources close to the deal suggest a second offer has been submitted, believed to be worth over €32 million, as reported by Sky Sports.

The Brazilian winger is said to be eager for a Premier League switch, and Leeds are now confident of closing a deal after progressing negotiations in recent days.

Transfer Update – Paixão Pushes for Premier League Move

Update – July 27, 2025: Leeds United are closing in on an agreement with Feyenoord for Igor Paixão. The Brazilian winger is actively pushing for the move, while Marseille and Roma remain in the background as potential alternatives.

Leeds’ second offer appears to have made a breakthrough in talks, with Paixão now firmly leaning towards a switch to Elland Road. Despite late interest from Marseille and lingering observation from Roma, sources close to the player say his mind is made up.

The attacker is said to be attracted by the Premier League’s intensity and Leeds’ vision under Daniel Farke. With personal terms not expected to be an issue, all eyes are now on Feyenoord’s final response to what could be one of their biggest sales in recent years.

Leeds Back with Improved Bid After Initial Rejection

Feyenoord initially turned down Leeds’ opening offer of €30m earlier this month, but it was close enough to keep talks alive. The second proposal reportedly guarantees €32m upfront, with performance-based bonuses potentially raising the total even higher.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Leeds are pushing hard to get the deal over the line, with Sky Sports adding that discussions are now at an advanced stage.

Paixão Wants Premier League Switch — Despite Marseille Interest

The 24-year-old Paixão is understood to be keen to join Leeds United, seeing the project under Daniel Farke as the ideal next step in his career.

Olympique Marseille remain in the race, and AS Roma are also monitoring the situation. However, Leeds are now firmly in pole position.

Analyst Verdict: The Raphinha Parallel Is Tempting — But Paixão Offers More

Much like Raphinha before him, Paixão arrives from a top European league with flair, end-product, and a clear hunger to thrive in the Premier League. At just 24, he’s hitting his prime, and his Champions League experience with Feyenoord will only boost Leeds’ attacking output.

If the deal gets over the line, it could be one of the smartest pieces of business in the Premier League this summer.

I think with Paixao in their squad they won't relegated. Last season Feyenoord lost Slot and they had 2 different managers, current manager is v Persie. But, Feyenoord had a bad season, as they couldn't challenge PSV and Ajax for the title. Still he had his best season, this could be the best thing that could happen to Leeds in this transfer window.
