Fulham Ricardo Pepi transfer hopes have received fresh encouragement from the Netherlands, with PSV Eindhoven reportedly open to selling the striker before the World Cup if the right offer arrives.
Marco Silva’s side have tracked the 23-year-old since last summer, identifying him as a potential long-term successor to Raúl Jiménez. A renewed attempt was made during the January window, but PSV resisted a mid-season departure.
Now, fresh comments from De Telegraaf journalist Jeroen Kapteijns suggest the situation could shift in the coming months.
Fulham Ricardo Pepi transfer could move before World Cup
Speaking on the Kick-off podcast, Kapteijns claimed PSV may be willing to sanction a sale in the region of €35–40 million.
“There’s a good chance PSV will still agree to sell him before the World Cup. That could be between €35-40m,” he said.
“If they reach a good agreement, including payment terms, then they might agree.”
PSV technical director Earnest Stewart has already admitted that Fulham’s previous offer was financially tempting. Talks between the clubs are understood to have remained active.
Kapteijns added that PSV’s openness is linked to strategic planning.
“PSV is open to selling him early. This mainly has to do with their plans for next season. Once they’ve sold him, there’s money to do things right away.”
Financial timing and squad planning
Fellow journalist Valentijn Driessen suggested PSV may already have a replacement strategy in mind.
“I think PSV has something up their sleeve,” he said. “They need money early to pry that striker loose. That’s why they’re willing to cooperate.”
Having followed Fulham’s attacking structure this season, reliance on Jiménez remains evident. A younger profile such as Pepi would align with Silva’s medium-term planning, particularly ahead of a demanding campaign schedule.
However, it remains too early to conclude a deal is imminent. Pepi himself reportedly preferred to wait until after the World Cup in January, and his stance could again influence the timeline.

Fulham are expected to revisit negotiations once the summer window approaches. PSV’s desire for early financial clarity could accelerate discussions, though player preference and payment structure will be decisive. Much will depend on whether Fulham move quickly enough to secure agreement before international focus shifts.
