Fulham consider second bid for PSV striker Ricardo Pepi

Fulham are weighing up a second approach for PSV Eindhoven striker Ricardo Pepi after seeing an opening bid of £26m knocked back by the Dutch club.

According to reports, Fulham have rekindled their interest in the United States international ahead of the January transfer window, but PSV Eindhoven remain reluctant to sanction a sale.

Pepi, 22, has been in prolific form in the Eredivisie and is regarded as a key part of PSV’s attacking plans. That status was reflected in the club’s swift rejection of Fulham’s £26m proposal, with PSV believed to value the striker closer to £40m.

This is not the first time interest from England has been turned away. PSV previously rejected a £25m offer from West Ham United last year, underlining their determination to retain the forward unless a significant bid arrives.

Fulham’s renewed push for Pepi comes after internal discussions over alternative targets. The club had considered a move for Moise Kean of Fiorentina, but it is understood head coach Marco Silva favoured exploring other attacking profiles.

Pepi’s age, physicality and recent scoring record make him an attractive option. He has nine goals already this season, following on from 17 goals in 28 appearances last term — a campaign briefly interrupted by a knee injury.

Nicknamed “El Toro”, Pepi was born in El Paso, Texas, and although he represents the United States, he grew up immersed in Mexican football culture and even supported Mexico as a child.

With a World Cup on the horizon, regular football and stability are believed to be priorities for the striker. That context could yet influence discussions, particularly if Fulham return with an improved proposal and a clear sporting plan.

For now, PSV remain calm and confident in their position. The Dutch champions are under no immediate pressure to sell, and Pepi’s consistent output has only strengthened their negotiating hand.

Fulham must now decide whether to significantly raise their offer or turn their attention elsewhere as January approaches.
