Nottingham Forest Yoane Wissa transfer talks have reignited — but Brentford are standing firm on their price.
David Ornstein reports that Forest have submitted a fresh bid for the 28-year-old Congo striker, though the offer falls below the £25m Forest were willing to pay in January — and well short of Brentford’s current valuation.
Brentford Reject Forest’s Lowball Bid
Forest remain admirers of Wissa, who netted 13 goals last season under now-departed manager Thomas Frank. But Brentford, entering a new era post-Frank, are determined not to let the striker go cheap.
According to The Athletic, the West London club have made it clear they want in excess of £50m, viewing Wissa as one of their most valuable assets this summer.
Forest’s latest offer, described as “well below” that figure, was swiftly turned down.
“Forest’s bid came in under the £25m they were ready to pay in January — and far below Brentford’s valuation,” reported David Ornstein. — The Athletic
Why Forest Are Back In
Forest’s renewed pursuit comes as they rebuild their attacking options for the 2025/26 campaign. With Taiwo Awoniyi struggling with recurring injuries and Divock Origi returning to AC Milan, Forest need firepower — and Wissa is still high on their list.

Analyst Verdict
Forest want Wissa — but their offer was miles off. Brentford know exactly what they have, and post-Frank, they'll be wary of losing a proven goal threat without a premium. Unless Forest are willing to return with £50m+, they’ll have to look elsewhere.
