Everton are in the race to sign Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo, with the 24-year-old reportedly being offered around Premier League clubs this summer.
According to The i Paper, the Toffees have held discussions over the Japan international as they seek to bolster their flanks — but face stiff competition from clubs in Europe who can offer Champions League or Europa League football.
Moyes Facing a Winger Crisis
The need for wide players is becoming urgent at Everton. With Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom returning to their parent clubs after underwhelming loans, only Dwight McNeil and Iliman Ndiaye remain as senior wide options — and both favour the left flank.
David Moyes is keen to avoid a drawn-out saga. While Kubo remains a top target, the club won’t wait forever if the player leans toward European football elsewhere.
“Everton need clarity and commitment from new signings — not distractions,” said a source close to the club.
Everton Want Winger Reinforcements — But Kubo Has Options
Kubo has emerged as a major talent in La Liga since joining Real Sociedad in 2022. Despite being under contract until 2029, his change of agent earlier this year has sparked speculation over a move to England. The winger is now represented by German-based Sport360, who also look after Timo Werner and Angelo Stiller.
Reports suggest Kubo has been offered to several Premier League clubs, with a £30m price tag attached — a fee that may prove steep for Everton unless other squad exits materialise.
Takefusa Kubo Career Stats
Club | Appearances | Goals | Assists |

2024/25 Season | 41 | 8 | 6 |
Our Analyse
Kubo ticks every box for what Everton lack — dynamism, experience, and Champions League pedigree. But if the player’s heart is set on Europe, the Toffees must pivot quickly to avoid another transfer window stall. Timing is key for Moyes' rebuild.
Key Slight
- Kubo offered to Premier League clubs after changing agents
- Everton face winger crisis with limited senior options
- £30m asking price could stall move
- Champions League clubs may beat Toffees to the deal
What’s Next?
Talks remain informal, but Everton’s decision may hinge on Kubo's intentions. If he signals preference for a top European side, the Blues will likely move on to alternative targets before pre-season ramps up.
Should Everton push for Kubo or pivot to cheaper alternatives?

This would be a good move for both of them, but I dont see Kubo wanting to join Everton with all respect. he could get a better team.
