The transfer story gathering momentum around Everton and Franculino Djú has now reached another level, with new reports in Denmark confirming that the Toffees have scouted the FC Midtjylland forward at least eight times this season — more than any other club. With interest from Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund also building, Everton’s determination stands out in a market where elite European sides are circling one of Scandinavia’s most explosive young strikers.

According to multiple Danish outlets, Everton’s presence in the MCH Arena dates back to August, when scouts watched Djú in the Europa League qualifiers against Hibernian. Reports on November 5th noted that senior recruitment representatives from Everton, Bayern and Inter all attended Midtjylland fixtures to track his progress. Later that month, Tipsbladet revealed Midtjylland would refuse to negotiate for anything under €35m — a valuation that has not deterred interest but may delay movement until the summer.

The latest update from Indkast.dk adds even more weight: around 20 clubs have visited Midtjylland games this season, but Everton lead the list for total scouting trips. Ole Nielsen, the club’s Danish scout, has personally monitored the forward eight times, suggesting Everton’s intent is firm rather than exploratory.

Everton’s Transfer Interest: Why Franculino Djú Stands Out

Djú’s form this season has been impossible to ignore. Across all competitions, the 21-year-old has delivered 21 goals and 3 assists in 30 appearances, making him one of the most productive young forwards in Europe. His blend of acceleration, close control and instinctive finishing has made him the headline attraction in Denmark and a natural fit for clubs seeking long-term attacking firepower.

While Indkast.dk mention that some visits were also to evaluate talents like Ousmane Diao, Darío Osorio and Aral Şimşir, the consensus in Danish media is that Djú is the primary focus. Everton’s recruitment staff have monitored him more than Bayern Munich, Dortmund and Gladbach combined — a level of scrutiny usually associated with a club preparing formal negotiations.

What the Reports Say

“Everton’s scout Ole Nielsen has visited MCH Arena at least eight times this season, more than any other club. The interest centres primarily on Franculino.” — Danish media reports

Midtjylland, however, remain firm on their stance: no deal under €35m and a preference to wait until next summer. Djú’s agent, meanwhile, is pushing for the possibility of a January transfer, creating a tug-of-war dynamic that could benefit the most aggressive bidder.

The numbers show only part of the story. Djú’s movement between lines and his ability to finish after carrying the ball through pressure make him a unique profile — one Everton currently lack in their forward unit.

What This Means for Everton’s Transfer Strategy

Having followed Everton’s recruitment trends closely over the past two seasons, this level of scouting almost always signals a genuine push rather than speculative monitoring. Everton have shifted toward younger, high-upside talents with sell-on potential, and Djú fits that model perfectly.

Although some reports suggest Premier League sides would hesitate at a €35m fee for a player from the Danish league, it’s worth questioning whether the market will allow a cheaper alternative. Proven young goalscorers with physicality and resale value typically move into the €40–50m range once Champions League clubs enter the race — meaning Everton’s early groundwork could be crucial.

In our view, Djú would not only add athleticism but also change the geometry of Everton’s attack. David Moyes has often relied on structured patterns and target-forward profiles; Djú instead provides unpredictability, carrying threat and transitional power — traits that suit a side still searching for consistent goal output.

Extra Market Insight

If Everton wait until summer, competition may double. Bayern and Inter have historically accelerated interest once a younger forward surpasses the 20-goal mark, and Danish clubs rarely resist auctions. If Everton genuinely intend to act first, January may offer a price premium but less risk of losing the deal.

Key Insights

  • Everton’s scout has watched Franculino Djú eight times, more than any other club.
  • The 21-year-old has 21 goals and 3 assists this season.
  • Midtjylland want €35m and prefer a summer sale.
  • Bayern, Inter and Dortmund are also monitoring him.
  • Everton could be forced to act early to avoid a bidding war.

What’s Next?

Everton shift focus back to the pitch as they prepare to host Arsenal on 20 December at Hill Dickinson Stadium. Off the field, transfer preparations appear to be accelerating — and Djú may well be the headline target heading into January.

👉 Everton fans — should the club push hard for Djú now, or wait until summer and risk rival bids?

His numbers are good, but once clubs like Dortmund, Milan and Bayern want him as well, I don’t see Everton with all due respect make any chance of getting him
