Everton set to revive Edon Zhegrova move this summer

Everton are expected to renew their interest in Edon Zhegrova this summer after a failed late attempt to sign the Juventus winger during the January transfer window.

According to Calciomercato in Italy, Zhegrova is increasingly likely to leave Turin at the end of the 2025/26 season. The Premier League is described as a probable destination, with Everton positioned as a serious contender following their winter approach.

The Toffees explored a deal late in January but ran out of time to complete negotiations, with Zhegrova having only joined Juventus in the summer of 2025.

Zhegrova’s season in Italy has been complicated by injury and inconsistency. The 26-year-old recovered from a significant knee issue during the early months of his Juventus spell and has struggled to establish himself in the starting XI since.

His situation intensified this week after a high-profile miss in extra time during Juventus’ Champions League playoff defeat to Galatasaray. The winger squandered a close-range opportunity that could have completed a dramatic comeback, and criticism quickly followed.

Calciomercato report that Juventus are now open to a summer exit, with limited competition from other clubs currently mentioned. That scenario could benefit Everton if talks resume.

Everton’s interest is not new. The club had identified Zhegrova as a right-sided option capable of adding creativity and directness in wide areas. His time at Lille showcased his ability to isolate defenders, cut inside onto his left foot and deliver decisive moments in tight games.
