Everton ready £25m Djed Spence move as Tottenham open door to transfer

Everton are reportedly prepared to pay £25 million to sign Djed Spence as David Moyes looks to finally solve the club’s long-standing problem at right-back.

Football Place reported on July 7 that the Toffees had identified the Tottenham defender as a summer transfer target.

Now, fresh information from Tottenham insider and FA-registered agent Paul O’Keefe has revealed how much Everton are willing to spend on the England international.

According to O’Keefe, Everton want to pay £25m to bring Spence to Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The 25-year-old has emerged as one of the club’s leading right-back targets, although it remains unclear whether Tottenham will accept that figure.

Spence is currently away with England at the World Cup, meaning any major movement could depend on his international commitments.

Everton clearly believe there is an opportunity to complete a deal.

Roberto De Zerbi is reportedly prepared to let Spence leave Tottenham this summer as competition for places continues to increase.

Spence faces a difficult battle for regular minutes in north London.

Pedro Porro remains Tottenham’s leading option at right-back, while Archie Gray is also capable of playing in the position.

Spence has frequently been used on the left, but Spurs now have Andy Robertson and Destiny Udogie competing for minutes there.

A move to Everton could therefore offer the defender something Tottenham cannot guarantee: regular first-team football.
