Everton are reportedly prepared to pay £25 million to sign Djed Spence as David Moyes looks to finally solve the club’s long-standing problem at right-back.

Now, fresh information from Tottenham insider and FA-registered agent Paul O’Keefe has revealed how much Everton are willing to spend on the England international.

Everton willing to pay £25m for Djed Spence

According to O’Keefe, Everton want to pay £25m to bring Spence to Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The 25-year-old has emerged as one of the club’s leading right-back targets, although it remains unclear whether Tottenham will accept that figure.

Spence is currently away with England at the World Cup, meaning any major movement could depend on his international commitments.

Everton clearly believe there is an opportunity to complete a deal.

Roberto De Zerbi is reportedly prepared to let Spence leave Tottenham this summer as competition for places continues to increase.

Why Tottenham could sell Spence this summer

Spence faces a difficult battle for regular minutes in north London.

Pedro Porro remains Tottenham’s leading option at right-back, while Archie Gray is also capable of playing in the position.

Spence has frequently been used on the left, but Spurs now have Andy Robertson and Destiny Udogie competing for minutes there.

A move to Everton could therefore offer the defender something Tottenham cannot guarantee: regular first-team football.

Moyes desperately needs a new right-back after Seamus Coleman’s departure, while Nathan Patterson could also be sold if a buyer is found.

Everton still have more transfer work to do

Right-back is not Everton’s only priority this summer.

The Toffees also want another striker after inconsistent seasons from Beto and Thierno Barry.

Tyrique George has already joined permanently from Chelsea, but another winger could arrive depending on Iliman Ndiaye’s future.

Moyes is also considering another central midfielder despite signing Hayden Hackney.

Idrissa Gana Gueye has yet to agree a new contract, while Tim Iroegbunam is attracting transfer interest.

Key Points

  • Everton are reportedly willing to pay £25m to sign Djed Spence from Tottenham.
  • Football Place first reported Everton’s interest in the defender on July 7.
  • Roberto De Zerbi is said to be open to letting Spence leave Spurs this summer.
  • Everton need a new right-back following Seamus Coleman’s departure.
  • Regular first-team football could help the Toffees convince Spence to make the move.

What’s next?

Everton must now discover whether £25m is enough to convince Tottenham to sell.

Spence’s World Cup involvement could delay progress, but the Toffees appear serious about making him their new first-choice right-back.

With Tottenham unable to guarantee regular minutes and Everton offering a clear route into the starting XI, a deal could become one to watch once Spence returns from international duty.
