Everton have identified Liverpool winger Ben Doak as a priority target this summer but are unwilling to meet the Reds’ £30 million valuation, according to TEAMtalk.

The 19-year-old Scottish forward is seen as a long-term attacking solution by David Moyes, especially after the club opted not to pursue permanent deals for Jack Harrison or Jesper Lindstrom.

However, Liverpool are demanding a figure that Everton consider excessive, setting up a Merseyside standoff that could stall progress.

Why Doak Is on Everton’s Radar

Doak spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Middlesbrough in the Championship and impressed when fit — contributing three goals and seven assists in 24 appearances before a thigh injury cut his season short.

“Everton see Ben Doak as a long-term investment, but £30m is well beyond what the club values the winger at this stage of his career.” — TEAMtalk

His pace, directness, and attacking flair have made him one of the most highly-rated young talents on Liverpool’s books, though he’s yet to break into the first-team setup consistently.

Ben Doak – 2024/25 Season Stats (Championship, Middlesbrough)

Match Stat Value
Appearances 24
Goals 3
Assists 7
Chances Created per 90 1.1

What’s Blocking the Deal?

  • Liverpool valuation: £30 million
  • Everton budget ceiling: £15–20 million
  • Injury risk: Recent thigh surgery could impact price
  • Liverpool’s motive: Keen to make “massive profit” on a low-cost youth signing

Everton’s hesitation is partly financial, but also tied to Doak’s recent injury record and the need to prioritise other positions. Liverpool, meanwhile, remain firm in their belief that the Scotland youth international has the potential to justify a premium fee.

What’s Next?

The Ben Doak transfer saga could stretch deep into the window unless either side budges on their valuation. For now, Everton are unwilling to overspend, but may circle back later if no other forward targets are secured.
