Ethan Nwaneri says Arsenal “is where I feel at home” after signing a fresh long-term deal with the club. The agreement will keep the 18-year-old at the Emirates Stadium until the summer of 2030 and is understood to be worth approximately £40,000 per week, including performance-related bonuses.

Having already spent a decade in the Arsenal system, Nwaneri has emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in the Premier League. Last season saw him make 37 appearances in all competitions, scoring nine goals in what was effectively his breakthrough campaign under Mikel Arteta.

“This Is Where I Feel at Home”

Nwaneri said that committing his future to Arsenal was an easy decision given his connection to the club and the opportunities ahead.

“It means everything to me, I’m so happy to have got it done. This is where I feel at home, and where I’m going to develop the best. I’m ready,” Nwaneri told Arsenal.com.

The teenager added that he sees the upcoming campaign as his first “real season” as part of a settled first-team squad, and is ready to play anywhere across the front five if called upon.

From Record-Breaker to First-Team Regular

Nwaneri became the Premier League’s youngest-ever player at just 15 years and 181 days in September 2022, but it was in 2024/25 that he truly established himself. He scored his first two senior goals against Bolton Wanderers, before netting eye-catching efforts against Girona and Manchester City.

By the end of the campaign, he was Arsenal’s joint-fifth highest scorer and had matched his technical quality with physical resilience, adapting to the demands of top-flight football.

Arsenal’s Hale End Influence

The England youth international said he is motivated by the academy players who now see him as a role model — a position he once reserved for Hale End graduates like Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson, and Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

“It’s a good pressure that the academy players are going to be watching you, so you need to show them the right things,” he said. “It means a lot that the young generation is looking up to me now because when I was their age, I was looking up to the Hale End graduates and the Arsenal players in general.”

Analyst Verdict

Nwaneri’s extension is as much about long-term planning as it is about rewarding a breakthrough season. By tying him down until 2030, Arsenal have secured one of English football’s brightest prospects and protected themselves against growing interest from rival clubs. The reported £40k-a-week salary reflects both his current value and his potential, while providing the player with the security to continue his development in familiar surroundings.

What a talent! There were small talks about him joining us when Madueke went the other way, but unfortunately. Very talented and will have a good season for Arsenal
