Manchester United midfielder Diego León continues to draw attention in Paraguay, but his agent has moved quickly to cool speculation surrounding a potential January loan move — including links to Ligue 1 side Nice.

Speaking to journalist Ramiro Aranda, representative Renato Bittar dismissed the idea that León’s trajectory at Old Trafford has deviated from expectations. Despite reports suggesting external interest, Bittar underlined that the 19-year-old is precisely where he and his team expected him to be at this stage of his development.

He reiterated that the situation is unfolding as planned: “People linked him to Nice, but Diego is living exactly what we planned.”

The comments reinforce the internal view that León’s progression at Manchester United continues steadily, without rush or disruption.

Loan in January “not ideal” as development remains on track

While rumours persist about a mid-season move, León’s camp insist no decision has been made — and, crucially, they do not see a loan as the preferred option right now.

“We don’t know yet if Manchester United will choose that route, but interrupting the current season would not be ideal.”

Bittar emphasised that León has taken significant steps forward since arriving in England and that the rhythm he currently enjoys should not be disrupted lightly.

Journalists in Paraguay continue to note the midfielder’s consistent involvement with United’s Under-21 side, which Bittar described as a “positive” stage of his evolution. The structure, coaching and proximity to senior training sessions have all contributed to his progress.

This measured approach aligns with Manchester United’s long-standing philosophy: top prospects should build foundations gradually, rather than being thrown into loan spells before they are physically or tactically ready.

A player United want to keep close

León remains an active part of United’s internal development pathway — training with senior players, absorbing tactical principles under Rúben Amorim’s staff and staying ready for potential late-season opportunities.

With the club expected to rely more heavily on academy depth during fixture congestion later in the campaign, there is little appetite to send him elsewhere unless the perfect opportunity arises.

From all sides — club, player, agent — the message is consistent: his development is on schedule, and there is no urgency to accelerate it.
