Danilo Nottingham Forest transfer 2025 talks are heating up again after the club officially informed the midfielder he is available for transfer this summer.

Forest have made their position clear to Danilo’s representatives and are demanding €25 million (£21m) for a permanent move — despite a collapsed deal with Lyon earlier this year.

Forest Raise Price Despite Failed Lyon Deal

Danilo nearly joined Lyon in January for just under €20m, but the French club’s financial situation and FFP restrictions caused the transfer to fall through.

Now, despite that breakdown, Forest have increased their demands, likely hoping to recoup a profit on the €20m they spent to sign Danilo from Palmeiras in January 2023.

From Breakout to Bench: What Happened?

Danilo impressed in his first full season at the City Ground, making 34 appearances in all competitions, scoring 3 goalsand adding 2 assists during the 2023/24 campaign.

However, his role shrank dramatically last season. He featured just 13 times in 2024/25, often used in rotation and struggling to find rhythm or consistency.

Serie A Clubs Interested – Will They Return?

In January, Napoli, Inter Milan, and Real Betis made enquiries but stopped short of formal bids. With Forest now openly selling, there’s a chance those clubs could reignite their interest — if the £21m fee is negotiable.

2024/25 13 0 0

Analyst Verdict

Danilo showed real flashes of quality during his first full season — but his drop in game time suggests he hasn’t convinced long-term. At £21m, he’s a calculated risk for clubs seeking a mobile, box-to-box midfielder with resale value.

Key Insights

  • Danilo told he can leave Forest for £21m
  • Lyon deal collapsed in January due to financial issues
  • 34 appearances in 2023/24, just 13 the following season
  • Serie A interest remains, but no bids yet
  • Forest want profit on €20m Palmeiras deal

What’s Next?

Forest will now wait for formal offers. If Napoli or Inter return, negotiations could develop quickly — but price may be a sticking point.

Should Forest hold out for £21m — or cash in for less?

In today's Transfermarkt, yes, he's valuation is right. He would be a starter for a few clubs in the PL right now.
