Corrections Policy | Football Place”

Last updated: 20 October 2025 (Version 1.0)

At Football Place, accuracy is the foundation of our journalism.

We recognise that mistakes can happen, and we are committed to correcting them quickly, transparently, and with full accountability.

1. Commitment to Accuracy

We strive to ensure that every piece of content published on Football Place is factually correct and verifiable.

Before publication, our editorial team checks all statistics, quotes, and context for accuracy.
If an article contains speculation or developing information, this is clearly labelled within the text.

2. How We Handle Corrections

Minor errors (typos, grammatical issues, formatting) are corrected silently, without an editorial note.
Substantive corrections (factual inaccuracies, wrong statistics, quotes, or misattributions) are openly acknowledged at the bottom of the article.

Example:

Correction (20 Oct 2025): This article originally misstated that the match took place at Old Trafford; it was played at Anfield.

Major errors that significantly change the meaning of a story will trigger a Correction Notice both in the article and—if necessary—in a follow-up clarification piece.

3. Retractions

In rare cases where a story is fundamentally inaccurate or cannot be verified, Football Place may fully retract the article.

When this happens:
The article is removed from public view.
A note is published in its place explaining the reason for retraction.
The decision is approved by the Editor-in-Chief.

4. Responsibility and Review

All correction and retraction requests are reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief, Liam Rowe, or a designated senior editor.

We maintain an internal corrections log to ensure accountability and transparency in all editorial decisions.

5. How to Request a Correction

Readers, clubs, or organisations may contact us directly to report an error.

Please include:
The URL of the article

description of the issue
Supporting evidence (if available)
Send requests to: info@footballplace.co.uk

Alternatively, you may use our Contact Form for general queries.

6. Updates and Review of This Policy

This Corrections Policy is reviewed annually or as needed to ensure compliance with Google News Publisher policies, journalism best practices, and the Trust Project Transparency Standards.
