Chelsea vs LAFC Club World Cup 2025 has been confirmed after a dramatic extra-time play-off saw LAFC book their place in the tournament. The Blues, who recently lifted the Conference League trophy, will open their Club World Cup campaign against the MLS side on June 16. LAFC secured their spot with a thrilling 2-1 comeback win over Club America, with Denis Bouanga’s extra-time strike capping an unforgettable night for the Los Angeles club. The Club World Cup, featuring 32 teams for the first time, will be a major test for Chelsea as they aim to add more silverware to their collection, having previously won the tournament in 2022.
LAFC Stun Club America to Set Up Chelsea Showdown

“It’s simply one of the best moments of my career. I love this team, and I love this game,” said LAFC’s Denis Bouanga.
“It’s the culmination of three-and-a-half years of hard work,” added LAFC head coach Steve Cherundolo.
