Chelsea pulled off a dramatic late comeback at Craven Cottage, defeating Fulham 2-1 in the SW6 derby. After Alex Iwobi’s first-half strike gave the hosts an early advantage, two late goals from Tyrique George and Pedro Neto flipped the result in Chelsea’s favor, sealing all three points in stoppage time.
Iwobi Strikes First for Fulham
Fulham made the brighter start to the derby and thought they had taken the lead even earlier when Andreas Pereira finished off a move following Ryan Sessegnon’s square ball. However, the goal was ruled out for offside in the buildup.
Minutes later, they got their reward. Reece James was dispossessed by Sessegnon, who drove forward before sliding a pass to Alex Iwobi. The Nigerian made no mistake, firing a crisp left-footed shot past Robert Sanchez to put Fulham ahead after 20 minutes.
The hosts nearly doubled their lead from a Pereira corner, with Joachim Andersen left unmarked in the box, but he couldn’t connect with the delivery.
Chelsea Grow into the Game
Despite the early blow, Chelsea began growing into the game. Bernd Leno kept them at bay in the first half, denying a Cole Palmer effort and parrying a Reece James free-kick.
Nicolas Jackson came close to equalizing before the break, narrowly missing a driven cross from Noni Madueke.
Mauricio Pochettino’s halftime substitutions — introducing Jadon Sancho and Malo Gusto — added intensity. Gusto tested Leno early in the second half, and the Fulham keeper had to react quickly again to deny Pedro Neto with his legs.
Sancho then took aim himself from the edge of the box, but his curling effort was easily collected by Leno.
Late Drama at Craven Cottage
Fulham struggled to maintain their defensive shape under sustained Chelsea pressure. The breakthrough finally came in the 83rd minute, when Tyrique George fired home a stunning equalizer from just outside the box — a strike Leno had little chance of saving.
Still chasing a winner, Chelsea poured forward. Enzo Fernandez slipped the ball to Pedro Neto in stoppage time, and the winger produced a moment of brilliance: a perfect first touch followed by a thumping volley into the roof of the net to seal the 2-1 win.
Chelsea's comeback denied Fulham a first-ever league double over their west London rivals and left Craven Cottage stunned.

What a game! Much needed win, but nothing seems to work under Maresca this season. Good subs actually, but damn, work to do. I don't think we can manage to get top 4 actually.
