Wantaway Burnley defender attracts Beşiktaş interest

Burnley defender Quilindschy Hartman has emerged as a January target for Beşiktaş, with the Turkish club exploring a loan deal as the full-back looks for a way out of Turf Moor.

Reports from ESPN Netherlands and Turkish outlet Hürriyet both confirm that Beşiktaş have placed Hartman on their shortlist as they search for a new left-back this month.

The interest from Beşiktaş comes amid growing uncertainty surrounding Hartman’s future at Burnley, despite the defender only joining from Feyenoord during the summer transfer window.

According to ESPN NL, Beşiktaş are “eyeing the services” of the Dutch full-back, while Hürriyet report that Hartman’s name has been raised internally as the club look to strengthen the left side of their defence.

Hartman had previously been linked with a move to Ajax, with reports in the Netherlands suggesting talks were underway. Those claims now appear to be wide of the mark.

The player himself moved to shut down the Ajax speculation on social media after an angry backlash from Feyenoord supporters, insisting the reports were false. That stance appears to have cooled Dutch interest, but it has not stopped Hartman’s situation from evolving elsewhere.

While denying specific transfer talks, Hartman has been open in the past about viewing Burnley as a stepping stone towards a bigger club. That mindset has kept him firmly in the transfer conversation as January progresses.

Beşiktaş are now reportedly attempting to structure a loan deal, a move that would allow Hartman to reset and gain regular minutes while Burnley retain control over his long-term future.

From the Turkish club’s perspective, the loan route reduces risk while addressing an immediate positional need.

For Hartman, a switch to Türkiye would offer European football exposure and a prominent role at a major club. For Beşiktaş, it represents an opportunity to add quality without committing to a permanent fee mid-season.
