Brighton Kostoulas transfer 2025 talks have reached an advanced stage, with the Seagulls working to sign Olympiacos’ rising Greek striker before rivals can act.

Sky Sports' Florian Plettenberg reports that Brighton are “very confident” of completing a deal for 18-year-old Charalampos Kostoulas, a clinical forward who has caught the eye of Chelsea.

While no final agreement has been signed yet, Brighton are in deep negotiations with Olympiacos over a total financial package worth around £39.6 million. That would make it one of the most expensive youth signings in the club’s history.

Chelsea Lurking but Brighton Lead the Race

Chelsea are reportedly tracking Kostoulas but are yet to make a formal approach. Their interest adds pressure, but Brighton are optimistic due to early groundwork laid during the spring.

“He’s a clinical finisher with elite movement and touch,” said one scout familiar with the deal.

The Greek forward remains under contract with Olympiacos until 2030, which explains the size of the fee. But Brighton believe they can offer him a clearer path to regular Premier League football.

What Kostoulas Offers Brighton

Player Stat Value
Age 18
First-Team Goals (Olympiacos) 9 in 35 apps
U19 Goals 15 in 20 apps
Contract Until June 2030

Kostoulas is primarily a centre-forward but can also slot in behind the striker or out wide. His speed, positioning, and finishing ability have led to comparisons with Gabriel Batistuta — hence the “Babistuta” nickname from Greek media.

Key Bullet Callouts

  • Brighton lead race for £39.6m-rated Kostoulas
  • Chelsea monitoring but haven’t bid yet
  • Kostoulas dubbed “Babistuta” in Greece
  • Nine goals in senior football at age 18
  • Versatile: CF, CAM, RW options

What’s Next for Kostoulas?

With talks progressing, Brighton will look to finalise personal terms with Kostoulas in the coming days. If completed, he would likely join early for pre-season to begin integrating into the first team alongside Danny Welbeck and Joao Pedro.

Would Kostoulas be Brighton’s smartest signing yet? Or should they invest elsewhere? Drop your take below and share this story with any Seagulls fan waiting on summer news.
