Kaye Furo to Brentford confirmed as £8m Club Brugge deal agreed

Brentford have completed a deal to sign highly-rated teenage forward Kaye Furo from Club Brugge, with the 18-year-old set to become the latest young attacking talent added to the Bees’ first-team squad.

The agreement will see Brentford pay around €10m plus add-ons and a sell-on clause for the 2007-born striker, who is now scheduled to undergo his medical ahead of the formal announcement.

Brentford have moved decisively to secure Kaye Furo, finalising terms with Club Brugge after weeks of monitoring the teenager’s development.

Furo, who stands at 6ft 3in, is regarded as one of the most promising young forwards in Belgium and is expected to be integrated directly into Brentford’s senior setup rather than loaned out.

The deal value exceeds initial estimates, underlining Brentford’s belief in the striker’s long-term potential.

Furo signed professional terms with Club Brugge at just 15 years old in 2022 and has progressed quickly through the club’s system.

He made his senior debut in August 2025, appearing as a substitute in a 6-0 Champions League victory over Rangers— a notable milestone for a player still in his teens.

Although his first-team minutes have been limited, Brugge internally viewed him as a high-upside asset, making Brentford’s successful move a significant coup.

The signing fits a familiar pattern under Brentford’s recruitment department, led by director of football Phil Giles.

Brentford have consistently targeted young attacking players capable of developing into Premier League-level contributors, often sourcing them before their market value peaks.

Last summer, the Bees secured Antoni Milambo from Feyenoord, while their Brugge connection has already proven fruitful.

Furo’s arrival comes two years after Brentford struck a major deal with the Belgian side for Igor Thiago.

Signed in February 2024 as the replacement for Ivan Toney, Thiago has gone on to become one of the Premier League’s breakout performers this season, scoring 16 league goals — bettered only by Erling Haaland.

That success has strengthened Brentford’s confidence in sourcing attacking profiles from Belgium, and expectations around Furo will naturally follow.

Kaye Furo arrives as a forward with a physical profile that immediately stands out, but his appeal goes well beyond size alone. At 6ft 3in, he already offers a presence in the box and the ability to compete aerially, yet he is comfortable moving across the front line and attacking space rather than simply playing with his back to goal.

One of the aspects Brentford like most is his movement off the ball. Furo is proactive in finding gaps between defenders and does not wait for the game to come to him, which fits the Bees’ emphasis on intensity and structure in the final third.

There is also a clear understanding inside the club that he remains a developing player. His ceiling is considered high rather than finished, and Brentford are expected to manage his minutes carefully as he adapts to Premier League football. Even so, this is viewed internally as a first-team addition, not a speculative signing or a long-term loan project.

Furo’s medical is expected to take place imminently, after which Brentford will complete the formal announcement. Attention will then turn to how quickly the teenager adapts to Premier League football and where he fits into Thomas Frank’s attacking rotation.
