Beşiktaş have turned their attention to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the final days of the January window, tabling a €15m offer for striker Tolu Arokodare following a significant exit of their own.
According to Fanatik, backed by journalist Ömer Necati Albayrak, the Super Lig side are actively searching for a new centre-forward after selling Tammy Abraham — and have now identified the Wolves forward as a potential solution.
Beşiktaş submit €15m bid for Wolves striker
Beşiktaş are understood to have opened talks on two fronts. Alongside discussions with Tolu Arokodare and his representatives, the Turkish club have also lodged a formal €15m offer with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The approach comes as Beşiktaş look to quickly reinvest funds generated from Abraham’s sale to Aston Villa, with the priority now firmly on adding a proven No.9 before the window shuts.
Wolves face early decision after summer investment
Wolves only signed Arokodare last summer, paying around €26m to bring him to Molineux. Accepting Beşiktaş’ proposal would therefore represent an immediate and sizeable loss — something the Premier League club are unlikely to entertain lightly.
The striker has endured a difficult first half of the season, registering four goals and one assist in 22 appearances, but there remains an expectation internally that patience is required rather than a rapid reversal.
Having followed Wolves’ recruitment closely, it would be highly unusual for the club to sanction such a loss after just half a campaign.
Squad depth concerns complicate potential exit
Letting Arokodare leave now would also raise questions about Wolves’ attacking depth. Jørgen Strand Larsen is also expected to depart before the deadline, which would leave head coach Rob Edwards with limited options.
At present, that would mean relying on Hwang Hee-chan and Nathan Fraser, unless a replacement is brought in quickly.
This context makes a Wolves green light for the Beşiktaş bid even less likely without a clear succession plan in place.
Beşiktaş testing the market late
From Beşiktaş’ perspective, the move appears opportunistic rather than advanced. Fanatik do not clarify Wolves’ response to the offer, nor whether Arokodare himself is open to a switch to Türkiye at this stage of his career.
For now, it seems the Istanbul giants are testing Wolves’ resolve rather than closing in on a deal.

What’s Next
Wolves are expected to assess Beşiktaş’ approach carefully, but any movement is likely to depend on outgoing business elsewhere and the possibility of bringing in a replacement striker. With time running out, clarity should emerge quickly — either through a firm rejection or a counter-position.
However, it remains too early to draw firm conclusions.
Should Wolves cut their losses early — or hold faith in Arokodare’s long-term potential?
