Benjamin Šeško emphasised the importance of unity after his stoppage-time equaliser secured a point away at West Ham United, insisting the team’s collective spirit continues to drive results.
The Reds appeared set for defeat after West Ham’s disciplined defensive display frustrated them for long periods. The hosts struck first and then retreated into a compact shape, limiting space and forcing their opponents to search for openings late into added time.
Introduced in the 69th minute in place of Matheus Cunha, Šeško ultimately proved decisive. In the sixth minute of stoppage time, Bryan Mbeumo found the Slovenian inside the box and, with a deft flicked finish, he rounded Mads Hermansen to level the score and rescue a valuable point.

Speaking to TNT Sports after the match, the striker expressed mixed emotions.
“I’m happy with my finish, but I’m not so happy with the draw, because I know we deserved the win,” Šeško said. “We were fighting. Unfortunately, just the days come when you are a bit unlucky. Maybe the intensity was not exactly where it should be.
“But we were fighting in the end. We got a draw, which was really important.”
The late goal continues a recent pattern of resilience, following dramatic wins against Arsenal and Fulham in previous weeks. Having followed their performances closely, the side’s ability to produce decisive moments in added time has become a defining feature of this run.
“We’re playing for each other”
Despite his growing influence, Šeško was quick to shift focus away from individual recognition.
“We’re playing for each other, doing everything together,” he said. “When difficult moments come, we are stepping together, which is really important, and can lead to the results.”
That collective mentality has underpinned recent comebacks and late interventions, suggesting a group that remains mentally engaged even when performances dip.
However, it remains too early to draw firm conclusions about long-term consistency. Šeško himself acknowledged the need for sharper focus across the full 90 minutes.
Eyes already on Everton
The team now turn attention to their next fixture, an away trip to Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium in a couple of weeks’ time. Šeško believes there are positives to carry forward.
“I think we just have to keep on going, like we were doing the last games,” he said. “We have to keep in mind that we have to play for each other, and we have to take care in every single situation.
“Every second of the game, to be focused, to be on point, and obviously, when the chances are coming, to finish them.”
The emphasis on concentration and collective responsibility reflects a side aware of both its strengths and areas for improvement.
