Aston Villa are said to be at the front of the queue to sign Harvey Elliott, with Liverpool open to letting the midfielder go for a fee in the region of £30 million.

The England Under-21 star is currently at the European Championships in Slovakia, but uncertainty looms over his long-term future at Anfield. With intense competition in midfield and further signings imminent, Elliott has publicly admitted this summer could mark a turning point in his career — and Villa are ready to pounce.

Elliott Set for Villa Switch as Liverpool Open Exit Talks

“I just want to improve and be the best possible version of myself… If that’s to go somewhere else, it’s a decision I’ll have to make.” — Harvey Elliott

Elliott finds himself behind Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Curtis Jones in the pecking order. With Arne Slot keen on adding Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, Elliott’s chances of first-team football appear limited.

Aston Villa, meanwhile, are poised to reshuffle their own midfield. Jacob Ramsey and Morgan Rogers are attracting Premier League interest, while Youri Tielemans and Boubacar Kamara have received inquiries from European clubs.

Elliott vs Villa’s Current Midfield Options (2024/25 League Stats)

Player Appearances Goals Assists
Harvey Elliott 29 3 5
Jacob Ramsey 23 2 2
Youri Tielemans 31 4 3
Boubacar Kamara 25 1 1
  • Aston Villa lead the race for Harvey Elliott
  • Liverpool open to £30m sale amid midfield logjam
  • Elliott seeking consistent first-team football
  • Villa midfield could see major summer changes
  • Jacob Ramsey and Kamara attracting outside interest

What’s Next?

With Liverpool expected to finalise the Wirtz deal in the coming weeks, Elliott’s future will accelerate into focus. Villa are ready to table an official bid, with personal terms not expected to be an obstacle. A move could materialise before the end of the month if Ramsey or Tielemans depart.

Should Villa pay £30m for Elliott or prioritise a defensive midfielder?

So why would he swap the Liverpool bench for a Villa bench? He wants minutes right? I dont think moving to Villa will get you more minutes actually.
