Arsenal turn to former Liverpool throw-in specialist as Arteta hunts title margins

Arsenal have moved to strengthen their title push by bringing in renowned throw-in specialist Thomas Grønnemark, as Mikel Arteta continues his search for marginal gains at the top of the Premier League.

Grønnemark’s work goes far beyond increasing distance. His focus is on using throw-ins as structured attacking moments — retaining possession under pressure, creating overloads and launching controlled attacks rather than surrendering the ball cheaply.

At Liverpool, he helped transform throw-ins from a routine restart into a genuine tactical weapon. Arsenal believe similar gains can be made by refining positioning, movement and decision-making.

Arteta’s willingness to explore such fine details underlines how tight the title race has become. Arsenal currently sit six points clear of Manchester City and Aston Villa, with margins likely to prove decisive in the closing months.

With Jover’s corner routines already delivering consistently, adding expertise in another set-piece phase fits neatly into Arsenal’s broader performance strategy.
