Arnaud Kalimuendo Nottingham Forest exit talks are progressing after Eintracht Frankfurt negotiated personal terms with the striker over a potential permanent move.

Kalimuendo joined Nottingham Forest from Stade Rennais in August 2025 but struggled to establish himself at the City Ground. He scored two goals in 14 appearances, logging just 392 minutes in total, and featured only briefly in league action after September amid managerial upheaval.

A January loan switch to Germany has altered the narrative.

Arnaud Kalimuendo Nottingham Forest exit plan outlined

The 24-year-old has registered three goals and one assist in eight matches for Eintracht Frankfurt, earning praise from head coach Albert Riera and club officials.

According to Bild, Frankfurt have already discussed personal terms with Kalimuendo. The proposed deal would run until 2031 and include a base salary of €3 million per year.

The Bundesliga club also secured a €27 million purchase option when the loan was agreed with Nottingham Forest.

Internally, there is a desire to keep the striker. The player is also reportedly keen to stay.

However, Frankfurt have informed both Kalimuendo and his representatives that a final decision will be taken at the end of the season.

European qualification key to deal

Frankfurt’s position in the Bundesliga table could prove decisive. They currently sit eighth, eight points behind sixth-placed Bayer Leverkusen, albeit with a game in hand.

Bild claim it would be “hardly conceivable” for Frankfurt to activate the purchase clause if they fail to secure European qualification.

Having followed Forest’s attacking reshuffle this season, Kalimuendo’s future appears increasingly tied to Frankfurt’s continental ambitions rather than his prospects back in England.

However, it remains subject to confirmation whether Nottingham Forest would consider renegotiating the clause or seeking alternative buyers if Frankfurt opt against triggering it.
