Antony’s future at Manchester United hangs in the balance after his loan spell at Real Betis came to a dramatic end in the Europa Conference League final. The Brazilian winger, 25, was a key part of Manuel Pellegrini’s Betis side, contributing nine goals in 25 appearances across all competitions. Despite his efforts, Betis fell 4-1 to Chelsea in the Conference League final in Wroclaw, marking a bittersweet end to Antony’s time in Spain. Now, with his contract at Old Trafford running until 2027, Antony faces an uncertain future, unsure if he will return to Ruben Amorim's plans or seek a new chapter elsewhere.
Antony Reflects on Betis Loan and Uncertain Future
Antony has admitted he doesn’t know what the future holds after his six-month loan at Real Betis, where he impressed with nine goals and helped the team secure a sixth-place La Liga finish and a Conference League final spot.

He added that while he is “very happy at Betis,” his Manchester United contract runs until 2027, and decisions are out of his hands. Antony will now focus on his national team commitments and a well-deserved holiday before addressing his club future.
Conference League Final Heartbreak for Antony
The Conference League final started brightly for Betis, with Abde Ezzalzouli’s early goal giving the underdogs hope. However, Chelsea stormed back with four unanswered goals in the second half, leaving Betis and Antony stunned. Antony admitted Betis lost concentration after the break, leading to their collapse.

Amorim’s Analysis: Why Antony Shone in Spain
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim previously suggested Antony thrived in La Liga due to its less physical nature compared to the Premier League. Amorim argued that the intense physicality in England makes it harder for technically-gifted players like Antony to flourish.
Expert Criticism
Not everyone was impressed. Former Chelsea star Frank Leboeuf was critical of Antony’s final performance, saying:
“I saw the ghost that was playing for Manchester United… He has to avoid English football.” — Frank Leboeuf, ESPN

How much would United get for him 😂? They should be happy with 20M, he’ll never let go of his wages, so probably even have to accept to keep paying a part of his wages once’s he leaves.

Cucu should empty his pocket. This guy has nothing to do in the PL - he was just nowhere, just like he was in the PL.
