Leeds United midfielder Anton Stach is confident that his strong start to life in the Premier League can help him earn a recall to the Germany national team, after two years out of the international setup.

The 26-year-old joined Leeds from TSG Hoffenheim this summer for a reported £17 million, and has quickly established himself as a key player under Daniel Farke, making 10 appearances and clocking up 729 minutes so far this season.

Stach: “The Premier League generates attention”

Speaking in an interview with Kicker, relayed by Fussball Transfers, Stach said he believes that playing — and performing — in England’s top flight can boost his international prospects.

“Yes, I really hope so, because the Premier League is a fantastic league. You have very, very good opponents. If you prove yourself here and have a good season, that also generates attention.” — Anton Stach, via Kicker

Stach made his senior debut for Germany in March 2022 and has two caps to his name. However, he has not featured under Julian Nagelsmann, whose last squad selection omitted the Leeds midfielder once again.

Eyes on the 2026 World Cup

Despite that, Stach remains focused on forcing his way back into the national setup — and says representing his country at the 2026 World Cup remains one of his biggest ambitions.

“I’ve mentioned before that returning to the national team is a big goal of mine, as is the 2026 World Cup. Ultimately, you simply have to perform very, very well and consistently on an individual level.” — Anton Stach

The midfielder’s consistency and adaptability have impressed Farke, who has relied on Stach to anchor Leeds’ midfield with composure and intelligence — qualities that could catch the attention of Nagelsmann if maintained across the campaign.

Stach’s early numbers at Leeds underline his growing importance. A near-90% pass completion rate and two assists from a deep role show how he blends defensive stability with progressive play — exactly the kind of profile Germany’s midfield has lacked in recent tournaments.

Our View: Stach is doing everything right

In our view, Stach’s approach is spot-on. He’s made a smart career move by joining a competitive Premier League side like Leeds and is now proving he can thrive in one of the toughest leagues in world football.

If he continues this form into the new year, it’s only a matter of time before Julian Nagelsmann takes notice — especially given Germany’s ongoing search for balance and control in midfield.

What’s Next

Leeds United travel to Nottingham Forest next weekend as they continue their push up the Premier League table, with Stach expected to start once again at the base of midfield.

As for the player himself, maintaining this consistency could make the difference between watching the 2026 World Cup from home or taking part in it. With his form trending upward, Anton Stach’s international ambitions might soon be “generating attention” in Germany once more.
