Andy Robertson has responded to growing speculation over Liverpool’s pursuit of Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, insisting he still has “a lot to give” at Anfield. The 31-year-old Scotland international faces the prospect of being replaced after a mixed 2024/25 season that saw questions raised over his consistency and long-term role.
Kerkez, 21, is considered one of the Premier League’s brightest young defenders and is strongly linked with a summer switch to Liverpool under new head coach Arne Slot. If signed, he would likely represent a long-term successor to Robertson, who has served as the club’s first-choice left-back since 2017.
Robertson’s Response: Experience vs Evolution
Despite the mounting reports, Robertson remains defiant and confident that he still has a key role to play in Liverpool’s future.
“We’re not daft, it looks as if a deal could potentially be done… but I back myself. I’ve got confidence in my own ability and that drives me forward.” — Andy Robertson, via BBC Scotland
The defender acknowledged that Liverpool may bring in Kerkez, but stressed that his experience, leadership, and fitness remain assets to the team.

What Kerkez Could Offer Liverpool
Kerkez's standout season for Bournemouth has caught the eye of top clubs, with his attacking output, energy, and positional awareness making him an ideal fit for Slot’s high-tempo system. At 21, the Hungarian international has time on his side and would be seen as a long-term investment in a critical position.
What’s Next?
Andy Robertson may soon face the biggest challenge of his Liverpool career — fighting for his place against a rising star nearly a decade his junior. Whether Milos Kerkez signs or not, the message is clear: Robertson isn’t stepping aside just yet.

His time is over unfortunately. But he should be proud what he has achieved and I think he has been one of the best Left backs the league has seen.
