According to reports from TBR Football, Adam Wharton’s future is a topic of considerable interest this summer, with top Premier League clubs such as Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool keeping close tabs on the midfielder.

With several big clubs needing reinforcements in midfield—especially after Manchester City’s loss of Rodri to a long-term injury—Wharton’s name has been rising on many wishlists. Arsenal are also preparing for the departures of Thomas Partey and Jorginho, both of whom are set to have expiring contracts, while both Chelsea and Liverpool are in need of more depth in their midfield.

Wharton, who has been impressing with his performances at Crystal Palace, is now considered one of the Premier League's most promising midfielders. However, it’s not just up to Wharton to decide his next move; the club has also made its stance clear to any interested parties.

Crystal Palace Sets £100 Million Price Tag for Adam Wharton

TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, has reported that Crystal Palace is keen to make it clear that they value Wharton at a hefty £100 million. The club has received multiple enquiries from top-tier clubs regarding the potential availability of the 21-year-old, with several teams seeking to strengthen their midfield this summer.

However, the message from Palace is firm—any suitor hoping to land Wharton will need to break the British transfer record. Currently, the record stands at £105 million for Declan Rice, who joined Arsenal from West Ham.

Wharton’s value has been placed on a similar level, making him one of the highest-priced young players in Europe.

While Manchester City have reportedly been scouting the midfielder—having spent £100 million on Jack Grealish previously—they are not alone. Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and even Real Madrid are reportedly monitoring his situation, but Palace are not expecting the player to leave this summer.

Wharton’s Focus Remains on Development

Although Wharton has missed part of the current season due to injury, he has returned to full fitness in February and is once again displaying why he is considered one of the best young prospects in Europe. Having only joined Crystal Palace from Blackburn Rovers a little over a year ago, he is under no immediate pressure to move.

Wharton’s current focus remains on his development, with a particular aim of earning a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad ahead of next year's World Cup. Tuchel's initial decision to leave Wharton out of the senior squad sparked some conversation, though the player was later invited to train with the senior team while with the U21s, a sign that the manager has him in his plans moving forward.

Is Adam Wharton worth 100 million?

I feel like clubs putting price tags on players based on air. He isn't even worth 30 mil.
